Lots of multiple-choice questions: Most of which are similar enough to those asked on the test to be helpful. Explanations (for questions you fail or choose to review) are clear and, usually, accurate. Repetition of material you don't know until you gain mastery. The bad:.

A bit pricey if your paying for it as an individual. iPad app crashes very often. So often, that I only used studied via computer. This is fixable, I presume. So if someone reads this months down the road look at recent views to find if it is still a common complaint. Some inaccuracies.

Practice Tests

Very few on the Network+ test (4-5 out of more than 800 questions), more of an issue on the Security+ test (dozens of problematic questions about things as simply as private addressing). Must study with an internet connection. Can't reset the course to study again (e.g., I want to look at the N+ questions again now that I am studying for CCNA as many are similar). I'd recommend the Network+ material if the cost isn't too much for you and you have reliable internet access (mine isn't reliable due to being at a remote location for work).

There were no courses I could take in my area of the world so this and the exam cram book were all I used to pass the test. I had issues with the Security+ material, and I doubt they'll fix it as the edition of the exam I took is being faded out soon. I'd recommend Gibson's material is a better alternative to Security+ if you take the exam in the next 3 months. Thanks very much for the feedback - I'm passing on to our team.

The content review has involved multiple SMEs with multiple review rounds, and if there is something that isn't right, I want to know about it. Found a couple for us last month, and was summarily rewarded, also helping everyone else in the process. Happy to do the same for you if we can figure out something definitively wrong. And although Sec+ 301 for Certmaster will stop being sold at the end of the month, the exam and Certmaster version stay active through the end of the year.

The internet access question was the first concern I had as well when we started development. It keeps the processing of the questions/answers on the main app servers. Certainly takes the size of the user universe down, but I'm still pushing to see if we can do more locally. On the iPad app, did you access via a browser or with the expanded iPhone app? Version of iPad, OS, etc? On the course reset, there is a 'Refresh' section after every module.

I'm thinking that's a little more than what you're looking for, but it does reset each module. Thanks again for this - really helpful. I just took my Sec+ on 12/13/14 and passed. I used only the Certmaster for studying. Then I realized it probably wasn't helping me as much. That itself proved to be boring for me and should have included some examples of the simulations on the test. I ended up paying 10 bucks for 'Darril Gibson's Security+ Get certified Get Ahead SYO-301 Study Guide' on Kindle.

This book ALONE prepped me for the test in about a week. When I did take the test, nothing in certmaster came to mind. Almost everything in the test was covered in Gibson's book. With that said, I wouldn't recommend certmaster but I would recommend Gibson's books and I will continue to use his books for all future certifications.
