My mods work great on singleplayer, but not on my server / Npcs wont spawn/ Npcs are invisible. Short awnser: The mods on your client and server need to be exactly the same. Long answer: To prevent entity id conflicts there is a function called getUniqueEntityId which gets a unique entity id for my npcs.
What happens if your client has more mods with entities is that the entity ids arent synced on server and client, because the other entity took the entity id one of my npcs should have gotten. So don’t use mods that add entities on your client that the server doesnt have. It can also be that if you are using things like worldguard that its preventing them from spawning.
I run this mod in version 1.8 on a total of three different computers (it was about at-the-time convenience more than anything). Now, on one comp it works 100% issue free. On the second I cannot use lava or water buckets, or else the game crashes. On the third the same problem persists (although not 100% sure it is Custom NPC or something else on PC#3). As it works on one pc, I am not sure why it screws up on the other two, especially since on PC#3, my brother has no problem with the mod on his Windows user. Any suggestions for a solution? Optifine crashes the game on the two problem PCs.
I am using the 1.6.4 version because a mojority of the mods I am using are all on that version of Minecraft Forge Right, now onto the problem I have only just occured with this mod. For some reason, when I type in another Minecraft players username into the player name option bit, it just stays as a defualt Steve skin. So I checked my other Minecraft world in which I saved a couple of the NPC’s on just for PVP and they were all defualt Steve skins too! So I made a fresh new NPC, typed in my Minecraft username and it worked. I then typed in SkyDoesMinecraft’s Minecraft username and it worked. So I can add my username and famous Minecraft players usernames, but I’m not allowed to use other players usernames now??? Is it some kind a new policy from Mojang or something where people are not allowed to use other peoples skins in mods or something?!?!?
Or could it be that I just simply need to catch up with the times. So I really hope some one with an answer responds as I am having an issue it is NOT on this page I checked, rechecked, and checked again simply because it’s an irritating little bug with the clone function. Or rather spawning clones.
This is my issue, let’s say I have clones A B C and D saved. Now I also have similar copies of these clone saves with different names however, as in A1 B1 C1 and D1. Every so often, when I click to spawn let’s say A, it says in the spawn saves window that it is indeed A that I am clicking, tho it loads A1 (different faction setting and skin) so it is getting confused or something Note that they have COMPLETELY different names, aside from one word in the names, and it is getting it confused and spawns the wrong one, even tho it is saying I am spawning the one I originally wanted. It’s as if it deletes what I had originally saved for that clone, and it is being overwritten somehow and sawing something else, but with the name it was supposed to be Long story short, spawn saves I select are coming out with the wrong names and factions. There are several bugs still!!! It’s a wonderful work but it has wrong things still. I have discovered very few but some of them are: 1- Tha fact that you can’t untie any npc once you have put a LEAD on it (a common minecraft item, not from mods) and the lead gains length while you are getting further from the npc, but it doesn’t ever get untied.
Even after the npc dies, and respawns, as it does so, so does the uncuttable LEAD i had to clone, and then delete the npc from his actual position and put it in other place, in order to make the lead disappear. 2- When I use a BOSS SKIN (EnderDragon, Wither and other ones from mods) the life bar sets with the name of the boss (for example, an Npc named “Doom”, has a life bar with the name of the skin he is using = Wither) ignoring that you have already a name set for the NPC and you have set the life bar option to “Hide”. 3- Trader should be looking at you at every moment. I have a bar tender selling me things with his back turned on me. 4- Some names are hidden, fully or partially by the heads of their NPCs. Just above their heads but nearly inside 5- Bard’s width of “sound field” (the surface where his music plays) doesn’t obey the settings, if i set the “fading off while going further” option, the music cuts off suddenl without fading. –Knowing that, I set the bard with only 2 blocks of distance for his music, and It could still be heard from 64 blocks away.
Total bug Tiny little things that annoy me, cause it is a mod with infinite chances, I want to know: Will some of them be corrected in any future version? Respect to everthing else in the mod, Congratulations, it’s totally OP Keeping goin’ better!

Can anyone here help me with this? Dear Noppes, there is a problem that not only I do have, but many players, as I see from the comments under reviews of this mod. The problem is, NPCs from mutually hostile factions don’t attack each other. For example, I place an NPC and assign it to Aggressive faction and then place the second NPC and assign it to Friendly one.
I suppose them to start fighting, but they don’t. What could I do wrong or forget to do? Or is there a bug to prevent them from fighting?
When I’m in survival, Aggressive NPCs attack me correctly. I just found this mod – very cool! Related to code: 1) The FAQ note about MCPC should be updated.

2) Do you share the source for your fine work? Or accept help with code? I’d like to make use of custom NPCs wrapped within another project. (Prefer not to discuss in public.) 3) I see your API notes. Rather than scripting, can we register a JAR to handle events? Sorry if I missed that.
4) I’d really like to be able to fine-tune the dialogs with the NPCs. For example, the text might vary with some state flag, like whether the player has been to another location first, or if they have an item in inventory, or if they’ve spoken with another NPC (note setting state when specific message is used in dialog). 5) Related to #4, in order to make the most use of the API it would help to see a single example in any language that profiles handling of an event, how to set the next behavior, etc. To me, the more powerful the API, the less you need to code yourself as you can leave custom behaviors to other developers.
1st of all, great mod! I love it, and its extremely easy to understand, which is awesome considering how challenged I am when it comes to programming. My question is this: I noticed when I set up a “kill” quest, it only allows me to set up hostile and neutral mobs as the kill target. Is there any way to add the ability to kill an NPC added by this mod to complete the quest? I’m making it to where in order to finish the quest, you have to take down a leader of a bandit gang. EDIT: Nevermind, I think I figured it out that you can type in NPC names 😛 Still.

I just got World in Conflict Bundle from Steam like two days ago. And I had various trouble trying to play the game and I noticed A lot of people having trouble also with Window 7. But Here are my methods fixing it!!!
My computer is Window 7 64-bit!!!! First let me tell you that if you get the WIC bundle. Soviet Assault is just the complete game that includes missions in the regular WIC. You will play campaign as Soviet and US. Anyways back to business!! CD-Key issue: Soviet Assault is the only thing that need CD-Key if you got the bundle so don't worry about CD-Key for regular WIC. MAIN MENU CRASH: this was not a problem for me in the beginning until I went through all these process for my campaign to work ( I will talk about this next).
But if you have crash in Main Menu it is because WIC runs optimally in Direct X9. Here are the steps to fix it. Document-World in Conflict-Game Option- Find MyDX10!! There will be '1' next to it so change that to '0' and save!
And start the game again! CRASH AFTER LOADING SCREEN OF FIRST CAMPAIGN: I had this problem from the start! The problem is Soviet Assault and regular WIC has same file name on one of the game file. You can do multiple steps like change the name of the file for Soviet Assault But this is kind of hard to explain if you are a beginner. I'll tell you the easier way to do it. Uninstall both games (Skip this step if you have modified any of the files and if you don't know you did it or not 'Just UNINSTALL) 2. Install WIC This will automatically install both WIC and Soviet Assault.
Then Uninstall WIC ONLY!!! (NOT THE SOVIET ASSAULT) 4. You are left only SOVIET ASSAULT!! VERIFY CACHE!!! Only that game!! If you don't know how to VERIFY CACHE if you google it, it will tell you.
(This process will also automatically input the CD-Key into your game) Then restart the game! CRASH AFTER PLAYING 10-20min INTO THE GAME (FATAL ERROR: Insufficient memory.) OK. This one was just hassle. My game was crashing at the same place after the first campaign mission. First of all, The MAP itself have a bug or it needs the most memory to run (Map is DOME). So if I play different map in skirmish mode, my game was running fine. But If I play campaign or skirmish on DOME my game crashed.
The reason for this is WIC for some reason was running the game (GRAPHICS) on one of my temp file which will overload that file's memory. No matter how hard I tried. I wasn't able to change the setting.
But this issue can be solved with sacrifice of quality of the graphics. (TRUST ME MY COMPUTER CAN RUN MOST RECENT GAME ON ULTRA but didn't feel like listing my spec) So for the first mission (MAP DOME) put it on LOW! And then play through the whole first mission. Then SAVE the campaign and revert your Graphics to Ultra or whatever your system can handle and play the rest. If your game still crashes with same error message, Put the graphic on 'MEDIUM' if you had it at 'HIGH' at first.NOTE. when you increase your graphics this will automatically change Direct X to 10 instead of 9. So quit the game and turn off MyDX10 (revert it back to '0') These are all the crashes that I encountered so if there is anything else, Cant help you there SORRY.
BUT HOPE THIS HELP ALOT OF PPL!!! I follow your direction on (MAIN MENU CRASH) and it worked.
It didn't crash after I got in for a few mins and it was fine. I have not encounter the (CRASH AFTER LOADING SCREEN OF FIRST CAMPAIGN) crash yet because it always crash on me. Also I noticed that when I changed MyDX10 '1' to '0',I check the Graphics-Advanced and I found that the 'USE DX10 RENDING' was not on and after I put it back on,Apply, and Exit Option. I got the message about it going to change/Apply DX9 to DX10 version after I exit the game. So I went to check back The Game Option and it Changed MyDX10 '0' to '1', I went to check the game out and it crash before I even got in the Main Menu. So I changed it back to '0' and it work again without crashing so as long I keep that 'USE DX10 RENDING' off. It should work (I think).
